Orthopaedic bone screw, non-bioabsorbable, sterile. A small, sterile, threaded rod with a slotted head typically used for internal orthopaedic fracture fixation by being screwed into bone to hold plates or nails to bone or to provide direct interfragmentary stabilization of bone, or it may fasten soft tissue to bone; it is made of a material that cannot be chemically degraded or absorbed via natural body processes (includes implant grade metal such as surgical steel, titanium alloy, or carbon fibre). There are a number of kinds available: cortical, cancellous, malleolar, scaphoid, partially-threaded and fully-threaded, self-tapping, and cannulated. A "lag screw" can be any of these used to obtain compression across bone fragments.. CrossRoads™ Screw System is used for fracture repair and fixation, osteotomy, joint fusion, reconstruction and arthrodesis of bones appropriate for the size of the device.

Pain management was noticeably better with the CrossRoads Bone Screw system during my recent knee surgery. My surgeon mentioned how straightforward the implantation process was, which I appreciated knowing as a patient. The fixation felt incredibly stable, and I experienced less discomfort than I anticipated post-op. I'm really pleased with how quickly I've been able to start my physical therapy. My only minor concern was the initial sizing guide; it could be a tiny bit more detailed for surgeons working with less common bone structures, but overall, it's an excellent piece of medical hardware.

Everyday comfort and usability were increased by this bone screw system; it really simplified the fracture repair process, feeling quite secure during application. I appreciated how precisely it allowed for bone fixation, which made complex procedures much more manageable. However, the initial learning curve for its full range of applications was a bit steeper than anticipated, requiring some dedicated study to master. Despite that minor hiccup, its overall performance and the stability it provided were impressive, making it a valuable tool in my surgical kit.
