Clinical Breakthrough in Foot & Ankle Surgery!

The Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center (OFAC) just completed a prospective, IRB-approved clinical study showing excellent outcomes using CartiMax for osteochondral defects of the talus—a notoriously difficult area to treat.

  • 100% success rate
  • No intraoperative complications or graft failures
  • Significant improvements in pain (VAS) and function (AOFAS)
  • Full radiographic integration of the scaffold in all patients
  • No revisions needed during follow-up

Led by Dr. Steven Neufeld, the study will be presented at the upcoming AOFAS Annual Meeting. CartiMax—a next-gen cartilage repair scaffold—is showing strong promise in regenerating both cartilage and subchondral bone in complex joint areas like the talus.

A larger cohort study is already in the works as OFAC continues to advance biologic repair solutions in orthopedic care.
